Carolyn Louise (Cowart) Snyder, affectionately known to many as "Mema", was a beacon of warmth and nurturing, whose life was a testament to the beauty of care and the strength of a compassionate spirit. She was born on September 11, 1945, in Gulfport, there beginning a journey of love, laughter, and the simple joys that stitch the fabric of a well-lived life. In the golden light of her years, Carolyn's vibrant soul departed this world on December 18, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire and uplift those who were blessed to cross her path. Graduating from Harrison Central High School, she laid the foundation for a life devoted to the growth and well-being of others. As a childcare provider, Carolyn did not merely look after children; she fostered a nurturing environment where young lives could blossom with confidence and joy. Her life was a canvas painted with the lush greens of her cherished garden and the earthy tones of the horses she adored. Her hands, ever so gentle, worked the soil, coaxing life from the earth with the same tenderness she extended to every child in her care. Her love for gardening was more than a hobby; it was a parallel to her life's work, each seed she planted mirroring the seeds of kindness she sowed into the hearts of those she nurtured. To encounter Carolyn was to know the true essence of care. Her life was a masterclass in the art of giving, a symphony of tender moments that resonated with the harmony of unconditional love. Though she has taken her leave, the melody of her life's work continues to echo in the community she served, the lives she touched, and the vibrant gardens that continue to bloom in her honor. Whether in the smell of newly turned earth, in the nicker of her pony "Mouse", or in the joyful laughter of her grandchildren at play, Carolyn's spirit dances on-a reminder that the most profound impact we can leave on this world is the love we share and the care we give. Let us carry forward the light of Carolyn "Mema" Snyder, a true guardian of life's garden. She was preceded by her parents: Vincent E. Cowart Sr. and Theo Nell Thurman, and her brother, Roland R. Cowart. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving husband of 60 years, Robert C. Snyder Sr.; three children: Stephanie L. Snyder-Higgs; Robert C. (Arlona) Snyder Jr., and Patricia A. Snyder.; three brothers: James Larry Cowart, Oscar T. Cowart, and Vincent E. Cowart Jr.; two sisters: Margaret F. Reddoch and Martha E. Beeson. "Mema" was privileged to see her legacy of four grandchildren: Brandon M. Price; Ashtin N. Booker, Heather L. Cuevas, and Jason C. Higgs; and her five great-grandchildren: Madison C. Price, Charity L. Cuevas, Aaden T. Martin, Logan E. Booker, and Nolan C. Booker, together with a host of extended family, friends, and children she cared for through the years. Carolyn was Christian by faith and a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Lyman, where a Celebration of Life Service in her honor will take place on January 12th, 2025. Visitation begins at 2:00, with a service at 2:30 PM led by Dr. Argile Smith of Parkway Baptist Church. A time of fellowship will follow in the church Fellowship Hall. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Snyder family in their time of need and asks everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
