Carolyn Tingle, a beloved lifelong resident of Philadelphia, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She graduated from Philadelphia High School in 1958 and began her career as a telephone operator with Bellsouth Telephone Company, later becoming a dedicated secretary at U.S. Electrical Motors until her retirement.
Carolyn was known for her warm spirit and her joy in shopping and traveling, but her greatest passion was spending quality time with her family. As a member of Beacon Street Baptist Church, she was actively involved in her community.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Sherrel "Hoot" Tingle of Philadelphia; her daughter, Jean (Kenneth) Mordecai of Millport, AL; and her sons, Mike (Linda) Tingle and Kevin Tingle, both of Philadelphia. Carolyn took pride in her role as a grandmother to Mandy (Malcolm) Hailey, Joey Barnes, Jamie (Michael) Franklin, Jessie (Tyler) Hardy, Matthew (Hannah) Tingle, Caleb (Dagan) Tingle, and Anna Grace Tingle, as well as 11 great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Vera Robinson, and her siblings: Demp Robinson, Hazel Burnett, Marvin "Bubba" Robinson, and Myrtle "Sis" Polk.
Her life will be honored by her pallbearers, George Robinson, Caleb Tingle, Matthew Tingle, Michael Franklin, Joey Barnes, Larry Robinson, and Tyler Hardy.
Carolyn's generous spirit and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time
