Funeral services for Zula Shackelford will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 2 pm from New Bethel Baptist Church. Bro. Curt Pace will officiate. Interment will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2025 from 12 pm until service time at the church.
Zula was born and raised in the Neshoba community to Ben and Cola Rhodes. She attended Union Schools. Zula was a long-time greeter at Walmart, she was later employed at the Philadelphia Neshoba County Museum where she retired. After retirement she was active in her church serving as WMU director. She loved to travel, she had visited the Holy Land six times. Zula was a long-time member of New Bethel Baptist Church. She dearly loved her family and she will be missed.
She is survived by her daughters; Sandra Myers Saltillo, MS, Susan Marshall (Johnny Wayne) Philadelphia, MS, Janice Williamson (Ray) Philadelphia, MS, granddaughters; Mandy Smith, Rebecca Hayman (David), Sarah Williamson, grandsons; Clint Marshall, Josh Williamson (Carly), Zach Williamson (Valerie), eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; along with several nieces, nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Shackelford, parents; Ben and Cola Rhodes, sisters; Lee Pendergrass, Selma Rushing, brother; Hayes Rhodes, Cecil Rhodes, Reed Rhodes, and Walter Rhodes.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Wayne Marshall, Ray Williamson, David Hayman, Josh Williamson, Zach Williamson, and Clint Marshall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Myles Cooper.
