Carolyn Sue Young, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, in Enid, Oklahoma. She was born on August 10, 1946, in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma, to Arthur and Lula (Parker) Kingcade. Carolyn’s 79 years were filled with love, laughter, and a deep sense of care for those around her.
For the last 60 years, Carolyn called Ringwood home. It was there that she built a life rooted in family, faith, and community.
She dedicated her career to caring for others, serving as a medical assistant at Springs Family Practice in Enid and also in Blackwell. Her gentle spirit and genuine kindness touched countless patients and coworkers, leaving a lasting mark on everyone she met.
Carolyn had a gift for making simple moments special. She loved tending to her garden, baking her famous cookies, and working through puzzles at her kitchen table. But her greatest joy was time spent with her grandchildren and greats, whose lives she filled with unconditional love, encouragement, and plenty of sweet treats.
On April 30, 1965, Carolyn married the love of her life, Robert Young. Together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, raising their children, and creating a home where laughter was constant and love overflowed.
Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Young; her daughter, Anita Hughes, and son-in-law, Marlo Sr.; her treasured grandchildren, Tara Speidel and husband Dakota, Trista Hughes, Tashia Hughes, Marlo Hughes Jr., and Raven Hughes; and her adored great-grandchildren, Preston, Peyton, Paxton, Marilyn, Benzly, Selone, and Maverick. She also leaves behind her sister, LueAnn Root, who shared a lifetime of memories and friendship with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lula and Arthur Kingcade; her brothers, Steve and Jerry Kingcade; and her beloved son, Terry Lee Young.
