The services celebrating and honoring the life of Colleen (Blasdel) Kennington, 65, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday October 13, 2025, in the Brown-Cummings Chapel with Scott Whitley officiating. A visitation will be held 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. Sunday October 12, 2025, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.
Colleen (Blasdel) Kennington, 65, of Enid, was born March 9, 1960, to Clinton and Norma Stanley Blasdel in Enid, Ok and passed from this life October 8, 2025.
She was raised and educated in Enid graduating from Chisholm High School with the class of 1978. She began working at Marquis Studios and then began her career as a C.N.A. she began working at the Methodist home and then moved to Bass Baptist Hospital, where she continued her career for sixteen years retiring in 2012. She was a natural caregiver and was always taking care of someone. She married Thomas Kennington Sr. August 27, 1977 from this union came three children, Misty, Christy, and Stephen. The family made their home in Enid until moving to Ringwood, Oklahoma in 2011 and then to Cleveland, Oklahoma in 2025.
She loved water skiing and riding horses in her teen years. Breeding Pomeranians. growing rose bushes, crocheting, blankets as gifts and learning new designs. She was also willing to try something new like Zumba or skydiving. She always made sure to attend all her kids and grandkids events. She also loved to travel the world and see new places. If she mentioned she wanted to go somewhere her family made sure it happened.
She is survived by her husband Tom Kennington Sr., of the home, two daughters Misty Maluy and husband Randy and Christy Martin and husband Mike; one son Stephen Kennington and wife Samantha all of Enid; six grandchildren, Hopelynn Handley and husband Seth, Alecia Martin, Kyle Martin and wife Mimi, Madison Maluy, Gabriella Kennington, and Alexandria Sabedra; three great grandchildren, Carson, Conner, Paris, and one on the way; one sister Charlene Satterley and husband Mark, of Enid, one niece Jennifer Meadows and husband Curt and nephew Josh Satterley and wife Amanda; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clinton and Norma Blasdel.
Memorials may be made in her honor to the American Heart Association with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma for their exceptional care.
