Whitney & Murphy Funeral HomeCarrie Ann Brown (née Maxam) lived a full life from September 27th, 1967, until November 4th, 2025.
She was born in Appleton, Wisconsin and lived the majority of her life in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. Carrie attended Northern Arizona University and obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing after raising four children. Her time spent as a registered nurse at the Mayo Clinic of Arizona fulfilled a life-long dream of being in service to others. Her love of music and dancing along to any song she heard was infectious and brought joy to those around her. Carrie was known for her love of the outdoors and hiking around Arizona. In recent years she made every effort to see as much of the world as she could, most notably partaking in the Portuguese Camino de Santiago. She had an adventurous spirit and loved enjoying the company of others, she never met a stranger. Those closest to her would call her generous, loving, fun, caring, and a seeker of making unforgettable memories.
She is survived by her four children; Thomas, Kaylyn, Shawn, and Jenna Brown, and one grandchild Patrick Brown, her three siblings; Dan Maxam, Bill Maxam, and Jenny Hardin, and her mother Karen Andrews. Her memory lives on in them as a loving and kind-hearted person. She is predeceased by her sister Tina Maxam Warren.
A service will be held on Saturday, December 13th, 2025, at First Christian Church 6750 N 7th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85013 at 10:00am in the main sanctuary. The family will receive visitors afterwards at the church.
Donations to honor her memory may be given to the One World Surgery non-profit.
