It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carrie Lee (Moore) Vann
Carrie departed this life on October 21, 2025, with her son Eric by her side. She was born on January 19, 1949 to the late Mable Moore.
Carrie is survived by her husband Roger Vann Sr.; sons Steven, Sean and Eric and daughter, Melissa.
She is predeceased by her son Roger Vann Jr., her mother Mable Moore and her brothers David Lee and Samuel Lee Moore.
Carrie was born in Garysburg, North Carolina. She moved to Suffolk, Virginia in 1957 and met Roger Vann in 1958. They married in 1967 and in 1968 they relocated to Pinnacle Heights in New Britain, CT. Carrie was employed at Central Connecticut State University in Food Service for 34 years, retiring in 2016.
Carrie is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of in-laws.
Carrie had an amazing spirit that connected with everyone she met. Carrie loved having family and friends over to eat, laugh, have a Budweiser while listening to oldies and dancing! When she laughed really hard her cheeks would turn red and tears would stream down her cheeks.
Carrie is loved by all and will be dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held on Friday (October 31, 2025) at 11 AM in the Shaker-Hill Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave. New Britain. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM just prior to the service. Interment and committal will be in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St. New Britain.
