Charlene is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, James DeLaura; her daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Brian Ramy; her cherished grandchildren, Jaclyn and William; her niece and nephews Hope, Anthony, and Vincent; and her sister Mildred of Florida.
Charlene earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Central Connecticut State University and a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Hartford. She held various finance roles and concluded her career as assistant to the Vice President of Student Affairs at CCSU.
Deeply dedicated to her community, Charlene volunteered for many years with organizations such as the League of Women Voters and the Rocky Hill Democratic Town Committee, where she also served on the Board of Education. An avid gardener, she was a longtime member and treasurer of the Rocky Hill Garden Club. Her other passions included traveling, cruising, and spending time with her beloved dachshunds, Willie, Sammy, Rocky, and Frankie.
Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, November 9, from 2–5 pm, and the Funeral Service will be on Monday, November 10th at 11:00 am at Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill, CT. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Rocky Hill Library, 33 Church St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
