Cary D. Schultz

Cary Douglas Schultz, age 67, passed away early Monday morning, June 24, 2024 at McLaren Bay Region following a sudden illness. The son of the late Melvin A. and Jean R. (Ress) Schultz, he was born on April 13, 1957 in Saginaw. Cary was raised in Bay City and graduated from Central High School. Since he was a teenager, Cary was always known as a hard worker. He worked as a boiler operator for 29 years at Consumer's Energy Karn Weadock Plant, and then went on to work for several years at McLaren Bay Region. Cary was known to help anyone at any time and operated his own handyman service. For many years he volunteered with the St. Patrick's Day Parade Association. A true outdoorsman, Cary enjoyed boating, camping and especially fishing. He took part in the annual Carp-Off Fishing Tournament for over 30 years and loved to host his own wild game dinners. Cary was generous, kindhearted and loving to family and friends. But most of all he cherished being Papa to his many grandchildren.
On June 7, 2000 Cary was united in marriage to the former Brenda M. Raymond and she survives his passing along with his three daughters, Heather (Rick) Goodin of Indiana, Autumn Schultz of Bay City and Brooke Schultz of Bay City; three stepchildren, Jason (Donna) Tippett, Bradley Tippett and Todd (Amanda) Tippett; 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; his brother, J. Gregory Schultz and his sister, Kathleen (Barry) Buzby; his beloved dog, Patch; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Cary was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Barbara Schultz.
The Funeral Service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Trahan Funeral Chapel with Dcn. Dan Christie presiding. Private interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery.
