Robert S. Davidson
Essexville, Michigan
Robert S. Davidson, age 89, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Thursday morning, July 24, 2025. The son of the late Haven and Gertrude (Osterman) Davidson, he was born on January 8, 1936 in Bay City. Bob served his country with the U.S. Army, returning home and has resided here since. He was formerly a member of St. Jude’s Thaddeus Parish, retired from Bay City Powertrain after 35 years and was a proud member of the U.A.W. Local 362. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf, was a U of M and Detroit Tigers fan, and was looking forward to a great season with the Detroit Lions. He was a quiet, simple man who enjoyed taking care of his home and most of all cherished time spent with his grandchildren and family.
Bob is survived by his three sons, Robert (Susan) Davidson, Brian Davidson and Bradley (Victoria) Davidson, all of Essexville; his grandchildren, Alexis Davidson, Bannon Davidson, Benjamin Davidson, Tatum Goldufsky, Cody Goldufsky and Mark Keller; step-children, Anne Martens and William Martens; a brother-in-law, Joseph (Ann) Pobalis and their children, Joey Pobalis, Michelle McMillan and Laurel Gonzales; his nieces and a nephew, Rachel Grabowski, Debbie Davidson, Maria Furlin and Christopher Furlin; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Davidson in 1990; his second wife, Patricia Davidson in 2015; his sister, Beverly Furlin; two brothers, Haven Davidson, Jr. and Kenneth Davidson; and a nephew, Pat Pobalis.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Trahan Funeral Chapel with Dcn. Timothy Hartwig presiding. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the U.S. Army and the Bay County Veterans Council.
