With deep sorrow and love, we announce the passing of Casey Robert Conatser, who left this world far too soon on May 29, 2025, at the age of 38. Born and raised in
Conroe, Texas, Casey was a loving father, a gifted musician, a gentle soul, and a beloved son, brother, and friend.
Casey graduated from Caney Creek High School in 2004 and pursued his passion for music throughout his life. A brilliant guitarist and drummer, Casey shared his extraordinary talent by teaching music to others-a role he embraced with joy, patience, and genuine connection. He had a remarkable ability to reach people through his art, resourceful dedication, and immeasurable compassion. To many of his students, he was more than a teacher, he was a mentor and a friend.
Above all, Casey's greatest joy and purpose came from being a father. He adored his children, Nathan and Emily Fowler, and treasured the time he spent with them. Casey worked hard to support and guide them, always striving to be a source of love, encouragement, and stability. He shared his creativity, humor, and curiosity with them, and was deeply proud of the people they are becoming. His love for Nathan and Emily was steady and boundless-and they were the center of his world.
Known for his sharp sense of humor, kind heart, and creative spirit, Casey made lasting impressions everywhere he went. He was the kind of friend who made people feel seen and valued, and his sweetness and sincerity made him unforgettable. Whether he was playing in a local band, fishing at his favorite spot, treasure hunting with his metal detector, flying his drone over the treetops, or spending quiet moments with his beloved cat, Casey lived with a quiet curiosity and deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He had a deep love of animals-especially cats-and an adventurous childhood spent outdoors, always seeking something new and exciting.
Casey's lifelong passion and craft was music, which he mastered through practice, theory, creativity, sharing, and teaching. He once wrote: "Music doesn't have laws to follow or expectations to fail. It's forever my love and my story to tell. Blessings surely are for the weary and in need. I'll never be again with music inside of me."
He is survived by his children, Nathan and Emily Fowler; his parents, Michelle Hendricks (Richard) and Lee Conatser; his brothers, Christopher (Marcela) and Cody Conatser; stepsisters Lindsey Malak (Cory) and Samantha Hendricks (Dylan Bell); nieces and nephew: Isabella, Abigail, and Amelia Conatser; Landon and Olivia Schronk; and Haisley Bell; and cousins Joshua (Haley) and Benjamin Bush. He also leaves behind his partner, Jennifer Conley; lifelong friends, Clay Adams, Jason Blythe, and Shawn Key and many other close friends and students who will carry forward his memory and music.
Casey was music embodied-a true artist with a generous spirit, a gentle heart, and a soul that resonated deeply with others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A private family burial will be held in
Conroe, Texas.
A public celebration of Casey's life will be planned and announced at a later date, where all who knew and loved him will be welcome to gather, remember, and honor his life.
