Cassandra J. "Sandy" Coffman, 52, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Friday, March 21, 2025, at the University of Maryland Hospital.
Born Monday, August 7, 1972, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Sallie Lee (Sten) Coffman of Hagerstown, MD and the late Aldus Joseph Coffman, Jr.
Sandy graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1990, she studied early childhood education at HCC and went on to study social work at Salisbury University. Sandy later earned her Master's degree in social work at the West Virginia University. Sandy was employed with the Office of Consumer Advocate and several other agencies doing social work in many areas. She was member of First Christian Church, where she was very active in youth ministry, including Sunday School and MOPS.
Sandy loved traveling to Cape Cod,and cheering for Penn State, Baltimore Ravens and Washington Commander football. She was a lover of tradition and family time, always enjoying cooking and sharing her new recipes, but most of all she loved her time with family and friends.
Besides her mother she is survived by a God daughter, Allison Trumble and special friend, Krista Trumble and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Denise Coffman, maternal grandparents, Floyd & Geraldine Sten and paternal grandparents, Aldus & Mary Coffman.
Services will be held Friday, March 28, 2025, at 11:00 am, at the First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Avenue Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. Dr. Maria Francesca French officiating.
Family will receive friends at the church on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Private interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro, PA
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Greenebaum Cancer Center 22 South Greene Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD.
