Jerry Lee Bender

Williamsport, MD – Jerry Lee Bender, 86, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, at his home.

He was born on June 9, 1939, in Sharpsburg, MD to the late Jacob Edward and Minnie (Kidwiler) Bender.

Jerry was a 1957 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

He was employed with Mack Trucks, Inc. in Hagerstown, MD for 40 years until his retirement.

He was a member of Christ Reformed UCC of Sharpsburg, MD.

Jerry loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sybil A. (Speck) Bender, whom he married on June 28, 1958; son Randy Bender and his wife Penny; daughter Rebecca Sweigert and her husband Fred; grandson Dylan Bender; granddaughter Haley Likely and her husband Shawn; grandson Brent Sweigert; great grandsons Brayden Likely and Beckett Likely; sister Katherine Ramacciotti.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Jacob Bender, Jr. and Thomas Bender, and his sister Patricia Null.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 11:00 am with Rev. Mark Sandell officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
