Cassondra Dawkins Obituary
Cassondra L. Morgan Dawkins gained her wings on August 1, 2024. She was born December 24, 1965 to Charles and Betty Morgan. "San" as she was affectionately known, attended and graduated from Asheville High School in the class of 1984. There she made many friends and was the captain of JROTC. She began her career at Bojangles which sparked her desire to work hard and become a Food Service Director. She worked at various nursing homes throughout Asheville, Charlotte, and Greenville, SC. Some of those included Brooks Howell-Home, Asheville Manor and The Oaks of Sweeten Creek, just to name a few.
San was the life of the party! She loved family and friends and would do anything to help you if she could. She was a jokester. Her laugh was contagious. She loved to sing, dress, decorate and read novels. She loved listening to her gospel music and reading and collecting various scriptures. In her later years, San, suffered with Lupus. Her lupus branched off into many other illnesses and caused her many hospitalizations. In her last few months her health slowly began to decline. She mentioned to family and caregivers of her readiness to go home. God said it was time and did just that and now she is resting peacefully in her new home with a new body.
Left to cherish her memory include her parents, Charles and Betty McIntosh Morgan; her one and only son and the spark of her life, Brelan Dawkins; sisters, Toni Morgan Aiken (Lee), Keva Morgan, Nisie Finley (Omar), and Charlene Morgan (Frank); brothers, Charles Morgan Jr (Octavia), Marcellous Boston (Alice), and Kevin Morgan (Keeva); two very special grandchildren whom she adored, Ava and Zaylee. She had a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that she loved and that loved her. But of those, special mention goes to her nieces, Sha'Keiyra Morgan "Butahfli" (Terrell), Kyna Rice, ShaKayla Allen-Morgan, Keyasia Meade, Talayla Johnson, and Kevonna Baxter; her nephews, Tarius Morgan, Tavien Morgan (Amanda), Omar Finely II, Ta'Harie Bruton, and "KJ" Edmonds; aunt, Patricia McIntosh "Tricia"; uncles, Jerry McIntosh and Larry McIntosh, whom we know this is hard for, but we are gracious he is handling this service.
San was loved and will be missed dearly. No more sickness, sorrow, pain or cares, our daughter, sister! Take your rest.
Funeral service will be 1:00pm Friday, August 9, 2024 in the chapel of Western Carolina Mortuary Service, 1373 Sweeten Creek Rd. Asheville, NC 28803. Public viewing will be 30 minutes prior to the service
