Catherine Squires Gaddy,81, of Grove Hill, passed away on January 14, 2025, at her home with her husband, Lloyd, of 48 years and the love of her life for 55 years. Catherine was born on September 6, 1943. Catherine displayed her strong faith by attending and serving at Pine Level Baptist Church in Hobson, Al and serving at the Baptist Association of Washington County. Catherine enjoyed being with her family, fishing at their home on Lake Marie and cutting grass.
Preceded in death by her father, Otis Squires; her mother, Winnie Bell Smith; her grandmother Nellie Gray (Nay); and son, whom she missed so much, Michael Edward Kelley.
Survived by her loving husband Lloyd A. Gaddy and many loving cousins.
Pallbearers will be, Jimmy Chapman, Benji Elmore, Bryant Elmore, Will Elmore, Randy Johnston, and Dale Squires. Honorary Pallbearers are Murphy and Ann Clarke, Tommy Johnston, Bobby and Pam Keahey, Dan Allen, Bobby (Fig) Newton, Mike and Quida Paul, Jeff and Charlotte Sellers, Bobby Squires and the Courthouse Deli Staff.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in Catherine's memory to the Alabama Baptist Children's Home. alabamachild.org
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill with a visitation form 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Bro. Robert Kirkland will be officiating and interment at Magnolia Lawn Cemetery.
