Catherine Coburn Langford August 8, 1949 – October 3, 2025 Edmond, Oklahoma
Catherine Coburn Langford, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many, passed away peacefully in her home in Edmond, Oklahoma, on October 3, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, to William and Suzanne Coburn, Catherine grew up surrounded by family and faith, the foundation of her life. She shared countless memories with her sisters, Susan Flynn and Marjorie Garrett, who survive her and whom she loved dearly.
Catherine attended Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma City, where she met Dennis Langford. The two shared more than 20 years of marriage together and raised four wonderful children, Wesley Peyton Langford, William Clinton Langford, Clare Collins Langford, and Mary Catherine Poma. Though life led them down different paths, their shared devotion to family remained a lasting bond.
Catherine studied briefly at the University of Central Oklahoma and later followed her entrepreneurial spirit to open Kate Langford's Children's Shop in Nichols Hills Plaza. Through her shop, she found joy in dressing children in timeless, traditional clothing and building meaningful relationships with the families who walked through her doors.
She was the proud and adoring grandmother of eight, Nate and Grayson Langford, Peyton and Madison Langford, Myles and Calvin Langford, and Wesley and Cameron Poma, who brought endless love, laughter and light to her life.
Catherine was known for her sharp wit, big heart, and ability to make everyone feel like family. She was truly "a mom to many," extending her warmth and wisdom far beyond her own children. Her humor could light up a room, and her kindness left a mark on every life she touched.
A woman of faith, Catherine found strength and peace in her relationship with God and through her beloved community at All Souls Episcopal Church.
Catherine is preceded in death by her parents, John William and Suzanne Coburn, and her former husband, Dennis Langford. She is survived by her children and grandchildren, her sisters, and her many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A celebration of Catherine's life will be held in early 2026, with details to be shared via Facebook.
As she often said and would want us all to remember: "I love you more today than yesterday, but less than tomorrow." To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of CATHERINE, please visit our floral store.
