Steven D. Martin

Steven Dale Martin, age 70, went to be with his loving wife, Marla Kay Martin on October 6, 2025. He was born on October 11, 1954, in Wichita Falls, TX to William P. and Paula Jo Martin. He married Marla on August 14, 1976, in Oklahoma City. Steven was a 1980 graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma and obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification in 1994.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Paula; wife, Marla; and brother, Paul Martin.
Steve is survived by his two children, daughter, Jennifer & husband John Hines and son, Cody Martin & wife Julia; grandchildren, Lainee & Scarlett DeLise and Vance Martin; sister, Billie Jo Carron; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve started his banking career in the late 1970's and worked at multiple financial institutions within the Oklahoma City metro as a Loan Officer and later transitioned to Compliance at the Oklahoma Banker's Association (OBA). He left the OBA and started his consulting career in 1998. Steve provided tax services and compliance consulting for more than 25 years.
Dad, we will miss you more than words can express. You were always at the helm of any family issues steering us through life's storms and teaching us new lessons along the way. You were our friend, confidant, advisor and jokester. You had a heart of gold and helped people when you could. You gave to friends and family during hard times and never expected more than a thank you. I hope to be half as good as you were. This goodbye is not forever. ~Until we meet again.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home and Chapel.
