Catherine Barbara "Cathy" Lawrence

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Catherine "Cathy" Lawrence, who passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, surrounded by family. She was 90 years old. Born on January 22, 1935, Cathy was known for her warmth, wisdom and kindness. A devoted wife and loving mother, she built a life rooted in compassion, faith and quiet strength. She was the beloved wife of the late Christopher Lawrence Jr., with whom she shared a marriage of 67 years. She is survived by her children Kimberly Schultz (Dan), Laura Carr (Jeff), Amy Hines (Danny), and Christopher Lawrence III (Christina); grandchildren Alexandra Quilhot, Stephanie Shaughnessy, Brandon Carr, Timothy Schultz, Katie Hauptmann, Tyler Hines, Christopher Lawrence IV, Matthew Lawrence, and Elizabeth Lawrence; and great grandchildren Reagan Quilhot, Cooper Quilhot, Elliott Carr, Theo Hauptmann, Lucas Hauptmann and Emma Shaughnessy. She was the sister of the late Ernest Hunter Sr., and was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Catherine Hunter. Cathy was a constant source of love and guidance-known for gentle words, warm hugs and a listening heart. She cherished time with family, enjoyed traveling and telling stories of the past, and welcomed everyone with a smile that made them feel at home. She remembered birthdays, offered help without being asked, and lived a quiet testament to love in action; her influence will be felt for generations to come. Family and friends are invited to gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, 1 2nd Avenue SW (at Crain Highway), Glen Burnie, MD 21061, on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 6:00–8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday, August 25, 2025, at 100 PM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6401 S. Orchard Road, Linthicum, MD 21090. Her committal service and interment will follow at New Cathedral Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
