She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Mary Ruth Cole Messer; brothers, R. B. Messer, D. L. Messer and Adron Messer; nephews, Roy Messer, Shane Messer and Mark Messer; and former husband, George Mahaven.
Cathy is survived by her son, Joseph "Joe" Mahaven; sister, Carolyn Stanifer; granddaughter, Chloe Mahaven; brother, Wayne Messer; sister-in-law, Donna Messer; nieces, Mary Johnson, Danta Hurst, Britany Messer and Stephanie Hensley; nephews, Steven Messer and Michael Messer; and former sister-in-law, Donna Boehmer.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bridges Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Cheryl Curry officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM on Thursday at Roseberry Cemetery for a Graveside Service.
