Catherine A. Pimental (Casey), age 91, passed away peacefully on December 17th, 2025. She was born on July 27th, 1934, in South Boston to Thomas Casey and Catherine (Daven) Casey. Catherine was a graduate of Nazareth High School in South Boston.
Catherine was the beloved widow of Arthur W. Pimental. The two met as teenagers at M Street Park and were married following Arthur’s return from military service. Together, they raised their family in South Weymouth and shared many cherished years, including annual trips to Florida. Catherine worked for many years as a record keeper for the telephone company.
Catherine enjoyed reading, watching her favorite soap operas, and taking walks at Castle Island. She was devoted to her family and treasured time spent together.
Catherine is survived by her children Catherine Gillis of Rockland, Arthur W. Pimental Jr. of South Weymouth, and Jean Pimental of New Hampshire. She was the loving grandmother of Caitlin, Erin, Anthony, Jessica, and John, and the proud great-grandmother of six great-grandchildren. Catherine was predeceased by her siblings Robert, Thomas and Bernadine Casey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Catherine’s memory to Disabled American Veterans.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Monday, December 29th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home. The following day, Tuesday, December 30th, family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home at 9:00 AM for a Celebration of Life service at 9:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Blue Hills Cemetery.
