Catherine Jean Rebich, 91, of North Huntingdon, died Wednesday, November 20, 2024. She was born June 5, 1933, in Greensburg, daughter of the late Abe and Hazel (Guy) Beter and was preceded in death by her husband George Rebich and her siblings Eileen Eddy and Tom Beter. Jean was a hardworking, loving, disciplined woman completely devoted to her family. She met George, the love of her (and his) life at a dance. George was the swashbuckling Star high school half back and Korean war veteran. In love at once, they wed and together raised a beautiful family. George passed away in 2013 after 60 meaningful years together. Jean raised three sons and a daughter and when things were tough, she also held full time jobs. She was known for working the third shift at the factory and then taking her son to deliver newspapers afterward. These were the types of values she brought to her children. After multiple working experiences, she assumed proprietorship of the Lamp Theatre in Irwin, which was formerly owned by her father, Abe, who also owned the local newspaper and was a highly influential pollical figure. She was in the Avon President's Club for many years and held the distinguished President's Award, which rewarded her service and her seventy years at the organization, building community relationships with each visit. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Irwin, and enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and letting loose on the slot machines. She is survived by her four loving and devoted children: Terri and her husband Tim Yurcisin of Irwin, George Rebich of North Huntingdon, Dave and his wife Lilli Rebich of Connecticut, and Jim and his wife Nadine Rebich of Naperville, Illinois; her beautiful grandchildren Matthew, David, Daniel, and Allyson Rebich; her brother Ed Beter of Irwin and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 24, at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main Street, Irwin. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, November 25, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to The Lamp Theatre at www.LampTheatre.org. For online condolences please visit www.snyderfuneralservices.com

Sorry for the loss of your mother and I met her at your father's funeral (which I worked with your father at auto supermarket). She's now with her husband and watching over her children and grandchildren. God bless her family and friends.
