James Raible Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by William Snyder Funeral Home, Inc. - Irwin on Aug. 23, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

James (Jim) Edward Raible, age 73, of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Christine (David) of Latrobe, sons James (Rachelle) Raible of Irwin, Benjamin (Stefanie) Raible of North Huntingdon, Mycal Raible of Murrysville and Christopher (Alexa) Raible of Apollo, and grandchildren Amelia Raible, Turner Raible, Penelope Raible, Josianne Raible, Cecylia Raible and Grant Raible. He is also survived by brothers and sisters Joseph (Kathleen) Raible of Alexandria, VA, Marlane Jenkins of Monroeville, Barbara Skelly of Herminie, Catherine Werling of Jamaica, Timothy (Susan) Raible of Lake Wales, FL, Tammy (Bob) Theiss of Plum and Anita Raible of Murrysville. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Raible, and his mother, Bernice Marks. Jim was born in the former Columbia Hospital and was raised in Wilkinsburg. He was a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh. Jim spent his career performing an assortment of jobs, mostly in sales, though he was most remembered as the owner of the former clothing stores New Impulse Boutique on Wood Street in Wilkinsburg and Assorted Goodies on Penn Avenue in Wilkinsburg. After initially residing in Edgewood, Jim and his family moved to North Huntingdon nearly 40 years ago and have remained there ever since. Jim was an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time on the links as often as he could, namely at Hannastown Golf Club and the former Lincoln Hills Country Club. His proudest golfing moment occurred when he watched his son, Mycal, record a Hole-in-One during a parent/child tournament on the same hole at Lincoln Hills that Jim himself had aced years prior. Jim was also a diehard Pittsburgh Pirates fan. As much as he loved golf and baseball, however, nothing gave him more joy over the years than talking about and spending time with his sons, grandchildren and beloved dogs Yahtzee, Beau, Kiko and Milo. Friends and family will be received at William Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200, on Tuesday, August 26 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home 10 a.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please instead consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which was a cause that was dear to Jim's heart.
