Joseph Jennings Raible

Raible, Joseph J., age 83 of Lakeville passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025. Preceded in death by his parents: George and Ann; and brother, Terry. Survived by his wife of 31 years, Ruth; children: Don (Kris) Brummund, Mike Brummund (fiance Rachel), and Lisa (Mike) Bjorkman; grandchildren: Collin, Kendra (Isaiah), Cameron, Sam (Abby), Garrett, and Makie (fiance Ben); great grandchildren: Curtis and Levi; brother: Claire (Sue) Raible; also by other loving relatives and friends. Funeral service, 11am Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at St John's Lutheran Church (20165 Heath Ave) Lakeville. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment: Ft Snelling National Cemetery
Born in Altoona, PA in 1941, Joe was an enthusiast of all things Pennsylvania, especially the Horseshoe Curve and Ground Hogs Day. Following high school he joined the Coast Guard. After his service he had a long career with Flying Tigers and FedEx, eventually moving to Minnesota where he met Ruth. They married in 1994. In his free time Joe loved riding his motorcycle, smoking cigars, and talking with people "back East." He enjoyed taking long road trips using paper maps and listening to some Pink Floyd during the drive. He even had a brief Hollywood career, when he co-starred with Charleton Heston in the 1962 movie Diamond Head.
