Catherine “Cathy” Schmidt, 79, Greenleaf, passed away suddenly on July 14, 2025, following a battle with cancer. She was born in Green Bay on December 6, 1945, and adopted by Raymond and Cecilia Schmidt in the fall of 1946. Cathy attended Holland Primary School and then graduated from Wrightstown High School. During her junior year of high school, she began working for White Clover Dairy, where she worked until her retirement. Cathy enjoyed watching stock car races, even traveling to the Daytona International Speedway with friends. She was an avid Packer fan and attended a super bowl. She also enjoyed camping with friends and spending time with her nieces and nephew.
She is survived by her brother, Richard (Elizabeth) Schmidt, Rhinelander; nieces and nephew, Kay (Tony) Wyre, Kim (Richard) Engstrom and Richard (Janet) Schmidt. Cathy is further survived by her great nieces; great-great nieces and nephews, and also a new great-great-great niece; along with her many good friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents.
Family and friends may gather at the Cotter Family Gathering Center, 518 Meadow Lane, Wrightstown, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm with Deacon Ken Kabat officiating. Interment in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Askeaton. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
