Catherine Sue Schulze, 64, passed away on August 10, 2023 at Thedacare Hospital in Neenah with her family by her side and after a ten year battle with cancer.
Cathy was born in Chicago on October 15, 1958. Cathy graduated with a degree in business marketing from Northern University. She put that degree to good use in her long employment with Dayton’s, then Marshall Field’s, and then Macy’s.
Cathy was always ready to jump in and help out or offer assistance and volunteer. Cathy was a volunteer in the reading programs at Columbus Elementary School, as well as other school programs.
Cathy was a paraprofessional librarian at McKinley Elementary School, where she continued to instill the love of reading in the children.
Cathy was also a volunteer at The Performing Arts Center and then a manager there.
Cathy made many and lasting friends anywhere she volunteered or was employed over numerous years in the Appleton area.
Cathy is survived by brothers George Schulze of Appleton, and Steve Schulze of Colorado Springs. Nephews George E. (Mikayla) Schulze of Minneapolis and Charlie (Llynda) Schulze of Colorado Springs. Aunts Kaye (Burdette) Haldorson of Colorado Springs, and Diane Lahr of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Cathy is preceded in death by her mother and father, George and Donna, and her sister Sandra of Appleton. Aunts and uncles Bob (Marie) Sivinski, Jim (Betty) Sivinski, Michael (Anne) Sivinski, aunt Carol Bartlett, Uncle Bill Lahr, and cousins Kris Lahr and Kevin Lahr.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for a memorial to Cathy’s loves- Books for the children and planting flower gardens.
