Catherine Glenell Johnson Wenglar, 74, of El Campo, passed away December 3, 2025 after a long and brave battle with breast cancer. She was born on June 9, 1951 in El Campo to the late Glen and Edith Ellwood Johnson. She was a teacher for over 20 years, a business owner, a dedicated volunteer with The Blessing Cup and Wreaths Across America, a woman of faith, and a friend to many. She loved to travel, read, and spend afternoons at the bay. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to her 13 grandchildren. She was known as Catherine, Glenell, Mom, and GG.

She is preceded in death by her parents Glen and Edith Johnson; brother Bryan Bergstrom; sister and brother-in-law Betty Jo & Lee Merwin; sister Diane Johnson; brother-in-law Elwin Petersen; and niece Karen Balusek.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas A. Wenglar; children, Amy Slover (Kelly), Angela Machart (Dean), Jason Pfardrescher (Doris), Shawn Mason (Jason), Sean Wenglar (Angela) and Sarah Vasquez (Juan); grandchildren, Ethan Martin (Natalee), Zona Martin (Andrew), Garrett Machart, Finley and Hayes Pfardrescher, Theo, Catherine and Edith Mason, Luke and Olivia Wenglar and Emilia, Eli and Eleanor Vasquez; brother, Pat Johnson (Jody); sister, Sandra Petersen; sisters-in-law, Penny Klatt (Bobby) and Bejo Gadeke (Paul); numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Sharon Mayhall, the Webb family, and the best dog, Ruby.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, December 5th at Triska Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 6th at Christ Lutheran Church with the Rev. Wayne Clement officiating. A private burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ethan Martin, Finley Pfardrescher, Hayes Pfardrescher, Luke Wenglar, Eli Vasquez and Theo Mason. Honorary pallbearer will be Garrett Machart.

Memorial donations in memory of Glenell may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or The Blessing Cup.
