Cathern Jewell Webb

Cathern Jewell Webb, age 86, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 16, 2026, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born on January 5, 1940, in Inez, Kentucky, she was known affectionately to her family and friends as "Jewell," a name that reflected the radiant spirit she shared with the world.
The daughter of the late Marion and Gladys Horn, Jewell grew up in the heart of a coal-mining family in Kentucky. In 1957, she married the love of her life, Homer Webb, beginning a 56-year journey that took them across the globe. As a dedicated Air Force wife, Jewell managed her home with strength and poise while stationed in Florida, Scotland, Turkey, Mississippi, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Texas, and Colorado.
Jewell was a virtuous woman whose life was defined by her service to others and her unwavering commitment to her family. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and a faithful friend who reflected the light of Christ in all she did. A devoted follower of Jesus, she lived her life as a testimony to His grace.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, MSgt Homer Webb (USAF, Ret.), in 2013; her sisters, Ruthane Williamson and Oretha Hamilton.
Jewell's legacy of love and faith lives on through her children: Mike Webb (JoAnne), Cathy Malloy (Bob), Cindy Smith (the late Mike Smith), and Pam Webb; her brothers, Marion Horn and Larry Horn; and her sister, Alma Butcher. She was the cherished grandmother of Kelsie, Kali, Scott, Sabrina, Christy, Caleb, Callie, Laurel, Austin, and Forrest, and a proud great-grandmother to 21 children.
Jewell will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Colorado, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband. A memorial service is being considered for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Dementia Society of America in honor of Jewell's memory.
