Cathleen Constance (Gonzalez) Vargas, formerly of Milltown, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Centra State Hospital in Freehold. She was 67. Born in New Brunswick, Cathy was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School. She lived in Milltown for many years before moving to East Windsor in 2003 and then to Plumsted last year.
Cathy worked at Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick where she was a World Events Coordinator before retiring this year.
She was an award-winning tournament pool player and a member of the American Pool Association in Philadelphia. She enjoyed cooking, playing Bingo, and going to the casinos. She loved dancing, which is how she met her husband, Cristian.
Cathy is survived by her parents Eugene and Josephine (Parisi) Gonzalez of Monroe Twp.; her husband Cristian Vargas of Plumsted; her son Wayne Salvi Jr. of Plumsted; her stepsons Cristian Vargas Jr. and Leonardo Vargas both of East Windsor and Jason Vargas of Costa Rica; her brother Michael Gonzalez (Denise) of Monroe Twp., her cousin (who was like a sister) Shelly DeLasso of Monroe Twp; her 3 grandchildren Charlotte & Ebben Salvi and Amber Vargas Jimenez; and her nieces and nephew Brittany Morgan Gonzalez, Jessica Tsiopelas and John DeLasso.
Friends and relatives may attend the visitation on Saturday, November 2nd, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St. at Riva Avenue, Milltown. A Blessing will be held during the visitation at 3:00 p.m.
