Cathy Avdevich

Cathy Ann Kramer Avdevich, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Cathy touched countless lives with her warmth, strength, and her willingness to share her knowledge as a life-long educator.
Born and raised in Louisville, Cathy remained deeply connected to her community throughout her life. She carried with her a deep sense of compassion, loyalty to family, and commitment to others. She enjoyed her many opportunities to counsel family and students alike over a cup of coffee.
Cathy's love for her family was the foundation of her life. She cherished time spent talking to family and friends. Her greatest joy came from being with those she loved, and she made everyone feel like they were a member of the family.
She is survived by daughters Amy (Brian) and Nicole, granddaughters: Ashley (Ty), Cara, Deanna, Nevaeh, and Bella, great-grandchildren: Royce and Layla, and brother Charles Kramer (Diana), who will carry her memory forward with love, pride, and gratitude.
A service to honor and celebrate Cathy's life will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 5505 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to PBS (ket.org) in memory of Cathy's giving heart and lifelong compassion.
Though Cathy's presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
