Cathy Lynn Duggins, 65, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on January 17, 1960, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Richard and Ann Portwood, Cathy lived a life of love, devotion, and faith.
As a loving wife, sister, and aunt, Cathy always put her family first. She had a gentle spirit and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear. Cathy was a devoted Christian and remained deeply active in her church community for many years, where she shared her faith, compassion, and kindness with others. Her strength and resilience were evident as she bravely faced a long battle with illness, always with grace and determination.
Cathy found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in time spent with family and friends. She loved taking trips to the beach, with Daytona Beach and Myrtle Beach being some of her favorite destinations. These places held a special place in her heart, where she found peace and happiness by the ocean.
Cathy will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith will leave a lasting impact on everyone who crossed her path.
May Cathy’s soul rest in peace, and may her spirit continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
Cathy is preceded in death by her father, Richard Portwood; mother, Ann Wilson; and stepfather, Elmer Wilson.
Left to cherish her memory, Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Dale Duggins; 3 sisters, Cindy Jones, Lorrie Combs, and Shari Jordan (Steven); many nieces/nephews; and a host of extended family and close friends.
A funeral service for Mrs. Cathy Duggins will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 12 PM to 2 PM, at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West will follow the funeral service.
