Cathy Fein, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on June 4, 2025, in her hometown of New Albany, Indiana, at the age of 73. Born on May 24, 1952, Cathy was a lifelong resident of New Albany, where she made lasting memories and connections that would span her lifetime.
Cathy’s career was marked by her dedication and hard work; she spent many years at Humana, where she diligently worked her way up to a management position. Her commitment to her work was a testament to her strong character and unwavering determination.
Beyond her professional achievements, Cathy had a vibrant spirit that was reflected in her passions. She found joy in boating and camping, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her love for them was immeasurable, and she cherished every moment spent creating memories with her daughter Rebecca (Craig) Powers and her adored grandchildren, Kirsten, Kaitlyn, and Keegan Powers. Cathy was also a proud member of the New Albany Boat Club, where she enjoyed being part of a community that shared her love for the water and the outdoors.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Craig) Powers, her grandchildren, Kirsten, Kaitlyn, and Keegan Powers, her brothers, James (Shelly) Tyler and Steven Tyler, and her nieces and nephews: Cash, Ashleigh, Amanda, Michaela, and Tommy Ray. She will also be missed by her beloved fur baby, Charlie. Their love and support will continue to carry her spirit forward.
Cathy is preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Donnie" V. Fein, her father, Everett Tyler, her mother, Dorothy Tyler, and her brother, Tommy Tyler. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150.
The family requests that contributions in Cathy’s memory be made to Floyd County Humane Society.
