Cathy E. (Gregg) Griggs, age 75 passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, June 16, 2024 at Otterbein Franklin Senior Life Community. She was a resident of Trafalgar.
Cathy was born November 10, 1948 in Franklin, to her parents the late Vernon "Butch" Jr. and Maxine (Van Sickle) Gregg. She was a 1967 graduate of Trafalgar High School and went on to work for AT&T as a Data Base Administrator for 31 years, retiring in 1999.
Cathy enjoyed crafting and creating beautiful quilts. She enjoyed spending time in the outdoors by boating, camping, riding in her golf cart and traveling with her husband. Cathy also enjoyed watching soap operas and game shows on television, as well as, cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers. She will be remembered most for her love of family.
She will be missed by her husband of 36 years, Robert "Bob" H. Griggs, whom she married on September 12, 1987 in Morgantown; children, Nikki (Ron) Swafford of Brown County, Gregg Roberts of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Sophia (Ryan) Wexelberg of Fishers and Evan Swafford of Brown County; step-children, Elizabeth Mease and Jason (Whitney) Griggs both of Cincinnati, OH and Tamara Johnson of Atlanta, GA; step-grandchildren, Avery Mease, Madeline Griggs, Camille Griggs and Vivienne Griggs all of Cincinnati, OH and Drew Griggs of Atlanta, GA.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Karen Gregg and Verna Diann Hudson and step-son, Andy Griggs.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 20th at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. An inurnment will be held at East Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Cathy to the American Cancer Society, 5635 West 96th Street, Ste. 100 Indianapolis, IN 46278.
