Cathy J. Runyon

Cathy J. Runyon, 60, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 14, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Cathy was born on December 11, 1962 in Decatur, Indiana to Norbert D. & Wanita (Thatcher) Cable. She married David A. Runyon on November 26, 1983 in Bluffton, Indiana and he preceded her in death on Feb 11, 2013.
She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fuelling.
Cathy was a 1981 graduate of Bellmont High School. At the age of 18 years old, Cathy started working at Richard's Restaurant in Bluffton and continued for 20 years. She then worked for several other Richard's Restaurants in the area ending with a five year stint at the Decatur restaurant.
Cathy loved her family dearly and enjoyed her regular days of "Sister Coffee" with her sisters at the Java Bean. She loved flowers, music, traveling, and bird watching. She also enjoyed road trips to pick up her grandson. Cathy loved to cook and bake as well.
She is survived by two sons, Michael (Valerie) Runyon of Bluffton, Indiana and Kevin Runyon of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Gloria Loshe of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Roger (Janet) Cable of Kingston Springs, Tennessee; sister, Brenda (Andy) Wolf of Craigville, Indiana; sister, Rebecca (James) Fuelling of Decatur, Indiana; grandson, Noah "Bear" Runyon; and her faithful companions, Malcolm, Snoopy, Woodstock, & Linus.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 19, 2023, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fuelling with Pastor Leonard Tanksley officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Linn Grove, Indiana.
Family & friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Preferred memorials are to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fuelling or ACCF – Cancer Fund.
