Cathy Renee Thompson, born on March 18, 1974, in West Salem, Ohio, passed away on June 10, 2025, at the Southern Kentucky Hospice House. Cathy was deeply loved and cherished, and her warm spirit will be profoundly missed.
A devoted daughter, Cathy was the daughter of Loretta and George Fleming. She shared a strong bond with her family, especially with her sister, Julie Smith, and brother-in-law, Shawn. Cathy exemplified the meaning of family, always placing their needs above her own. She was a wonderful wife to her husband, Tom Thompson, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage lasting 10 years. Their partnership was a testament to love and mutual support.
Cathy was not just a loving wife, but also an exceptionally proud mother to her son, Justin Fleming. She was his biggest supporter, dedicating countless hours to ensure he excelled in all the sports he traversed throughout his childhood. Her unwavering commitment to her son was an inspiration to many, as she made sacrifices that reflected her selfless nature.
In recent years, Cathy’s heart continued to extend to her granddaughter, Autumn Fleming. She played an instrumental role in nurturing Autumn's spiritual journey, introducing her to the church at a young age and laying the foundation for a lifelong love of God that will forever resonate in Autumn’s heart.
Cathy's personality was characterized by her genuine warmth and welcoming smile. It was said that within moments of meeting her, even the most reserved individuals found themselves opening up to her. She had an innate ability to connect with people, fostering a sense of community and belonging wherever she went.
Cathy extended her compassion beyond her immediate family; she had a profound empathy for those in need. It was not uncommon for her to share food, blankets, and sometimes even Bibles with the homeless, reflecting her heart for all and her enduring belief in kindness.
The influence of Cathy Renee Thompson will continue to thrive through her loved ones, as they carry forward the values she embodied in life. She touched countless lives with her generosity and spirit of service. Cathy will be remembered as a remarkable woman whose legacy of love and compassion endures in the hearts of those who knew her.
