Catie Sebastian, a spirited, dedicated young lady passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at the age of 29. She was born on January 22, 1996, in Amarillo, Texas, to Scott and Devon Sebastian. Catie's journey through life was one marked by her unwavering determination and her ability to bring joy to those around her.
After completing her education at Richard Milburn Academy in 2014, Catie embraced a calling that few undertake. With great pride and honor, she joined the United States Army Reserves, serving as 91J from February 2014 until February 2022. Her dedication to her country was evident, and her service in AMSA from September 2019 to August 2020 showcased her commitment to helping others, especially fellow veterans. Following her honorable discharge, Catie worked as a bartender at Jakes and, more recently, at Crawdaddy's. Her laughter and kindness made every patron feel welcome, and she loved connecting with people from all walks of life.
Catie is deeply mourned by her beloved sister, Laurel Sebastian of Amarillo; as well as extended family and friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her father Scott in July 2014; mother, Devon in June of 2020; and aunt, Carolyn Marshall.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway in Lubbock with services starting at 4:00 pm. The family would like guests to wear vibrant colors which reflected the positive, energetic nature of Catie. Following the service, everyone is invited to Crawdaddy's on 82nd and Frankford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made at any Happy State Bank or Centennial Bank in honor of Catie under the name of Laurel Sebastian.
