Cecelia Gahan Obituary

Cecelia was born in Cleveland, MS on October 15th, 1936. She was the daughter of Cecil and Jimmie Lou Greer and grew up in Hollandale, MS with her older sister, Ernestine Greer Fioranelli and younger sister, Diane Greer Rexroad.
In 1959 Cecelia married John R. Gahan, Sr. and the couple moved to Port Arthur, TX where their eldest daughter, Sheila Rickard (Steve) was born. Soon thereafter they moved to Florence, Alabama where their twins, Susie (Gary) Warren, and John Robert, Jr. (Brenda Thomas) were born followed by their youngest son, Michael (Lisa McWilliams).
Cecelia was a wonderful mom and beloved grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Cecelia was predeceased by her parents, Cecil Greer and Jimmie Lou Grissette Greer and her husband of 49 years, John Robert Gahan, Sr.
Everyone who knew our mom loved her kind and generous spirit. Visitation will be held at Elkins funeral home on Hermitage Dr in Florence from 10:00 to 11:00 with a service at 11:00 on Saturday January 18th. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
