Cecelia Lucille Hurst, 80, of Levelland passed from this life on October 25, 2023. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 29, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, October 30, 2023, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.
She was born April 22, 1943 in Stephenville to Raymond and Lucille Mae Mounce. Cecelia graduated from Lubbock High School in 1961. She married Harold Hurst on June 30, 1961.
Cecelia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She always put her family first and she was a fierce protector of those she loved. Cecelia was known for her big heart, compassion for others and her beautiful smile. Her love for Christ was one of the greatest gifts she passed on to her children and grandchildren.
She really loved Christmas and celebrating her Savior's birth. One of her many joys was buying gifts and toys for children in need in the community. Cecelia always had a heart of gold and deep compassion for people.
Cecelia started her working career with Atchison's Jewelry in December of 1978. She retired in 2010 after serving the public for 32 years. Cecelia made many long lasting relationships in her career and will be greatly loved and missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Dwayne Mounce.
Cecelia is survived by her husband, Harold Hurst; daughter, Stacy (Derek) Schulle; son, Bart (Charlotte) Hurst; brothers, Charles Mounce and Ronnie Mounce; grandchildren, Lyndi (Jake) Nicholson, Laurran Hurst, Hestin (Amy) Hurst and Landon (Alex) Schulle; and great grandchildren, Samson Nicholson, Cash Nicholson, Pyper Nicholson and Adaline Hurst.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Bill's Backpacks, P.O. Box 974, Levelland, Texas 79336.
