Cecil P. Barthalow

Cecil P. Barthalow, age 72, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in Wooster after a period of declining health. His loving family was by his side.
He was born on August 13, 1952, in Cambridge, Ohio to Charles Henry and Barbara Joan (Bassett) Barthalow. He grew up in the Newcomerstown, Ohio area as a child.
He later served in the US Air Force and then the US Army from 1970 - 1980.
Cecil married Cheryl D. Craft on March 22, 1982, in Wooster. She survives.
He worked as a Truck Driver for over 40 years before retiring in 2014 from the American Refining Group.
He was a member of Mt. Zion Church of God in Wooster where he also served on the Pastors Church Council for many years.
Cecil enjoyed watching the television series, "MASH" and had an interest in anything to do with automobiles. He mostly loved spending time with his family throughout the years.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his children, Cecil Barthalow, II of Newcomerstown, Ohio, Kevin (Stacii) Barthalow of Wooster, Ohio, Nickoma "Nick" (Heather) Barthalow of East Sparta, Ohio and Natosha Barthalow (Tyler Wiles) of Polk, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, including Nioka and Braiden Barthalow of Wooster, Ohio; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Gay) Barthalow of Caldwell, Ohio, Robert Barthalow of Newcomerstown, Ohio and Bruce (Elise) Barthalow of Dover, Ohio; sisters, Cindy (Mick) Wise of Coshocton, Ohio, Charlene Opphile and Joyce Barthalow both of Newcomerstown, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Forest Barthalow, brothers, Thomas Barthalow, Paul Miller and his stepmother, Nancy Barthalow.
A Memorial Service of Celebration will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Mount Zion Church of God in Wooster with Pastor Harvey Studer officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior (12:00 pm - 1:00 pm) to services at the church.
A private inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville at the convenience of the family.
Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster is assisting the family.
