Cecil Trahan Obituary
Visitation will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 from 9am to 11:30am, with Military Honors to begin at 11:30am, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue.The funeral service will start at 12pm, followed by the burial in Rogers Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Canonico Trahan; son, Cecil Trahan Jr.; daughters, Renette Trahan and Necole Trahan Gardner; brother, Peter J. Trahan Jr.; sister, Karen Trahan; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Cheramie Trahan; daughter, Shannon Trahan Coleman; parents, Peter J. Trahan Sr. and Dora Thibodeaux Trahan; grandparents, Ludovie Thibodeaux, Eula Chauvin Thibodeaux Blanchard and step grandfather Wallace Blanchard, Joseph Trahan, and Justila Neal Smith Trahan.
Cecil was a member of the United Veterans League, president of Veterans Park on Hwy 311, commander of the DAV and VVA for Chapter 630, and was appointed Pointman of the Year for 2021.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue is in charge of arrangements.
