Cecile Lucille Martineau, 94, passed away on November 29, 2023. Born in Manchester on May 2, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Henri and Leopoldine Lemire. She shared 65 years of marriage with her late husband, Gerard P. Martineau.
Cecile was raised in Manchester and attended St. George’s Elementary & High School. She worked for St. Peter’s Home caring for infants for many years. Later in life, she worked for the Manchester Police Department as a crossing guard. After retirement, she and Gerard enjoyed traveling in their motorhome for many years. Above all else, Cecile was a loving mother and grandmother. She cherished spending time with her family, especially getting together during the holiday season and cooking her favorite meals. She loved her grandchildren so very much, and especially loved meeting her great-grandson for the first time.
Cecile is survived by her son, Roger Martineau and his wife Carol; her grandson, Zachary Martineau and his wife Gina; her granddaughter, Heather Martineau; her great-grandson, Colten James Martineau; her great-granddaughter, Lia Jeanne Martineau; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Cecile was predeceased by her sisters, Marcelle Huard and Claire Labrie.
She will be laid to rest on Wednesday, December 27th at 11:00AM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. Service to take place in the cemetery’s chapel.
