Cecilia Marie Kottmyer

On September 12, 2023, after a brief illness, Cecilia (Sue) Hilbert Kottmyer completed her life's journey through this world of happiness and sorrow. She was 84 years old. Born October 14, 1938, she was the proud daughter of the late John P. Sr. and late Verna E. (Ruppert) Hilbert of Dover, PA. Sue was a 1956 graduate of Dover Area School.
Sue was employed by Central York School District, as a head cook at North Hills Elementary, for 30 years. Sue also worked at Central and Eastern Market. Sue loved playing bingo, shopping, camping, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sue also loved taking care of others and played an instrumental part in taking care of her younger sister, Rose, when she became ill.
Left to cherish her memory are her two loving sons, Edward J. Jr., his wife Deb and Timothy L. Sr., his wife Sue Kottmyer; Four grandchildren, Edward J. III., Timothy L. Jr. (Shanna) Kottmyer, Kristi N. Zier (James), Timothy Schnetzka; four great grandchildren; siblings John P. Hilbert Jr (Helena); nieces, nephews and extended family. Two sisters Rosemary E. Stump and Frances A. Snell preceded Sue in death. Her family and friends will miss Sue dearly.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, from 10 – 11 am at John W. Keffer Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc 2114 W. Market St., York, PA 17404 followed by a 11 am service at the funeral home with Pastor James Fahringer officiating. Burial to follow at the Holy Saviour Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38105.
