Maryann Rakestraw

Maryann A (Krieg) Rakestraw, 92, of York, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. She was born in St Mary's Pennsylvania on October 4, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Lawrence Krieg and Gertrude (Gerber) Krieg.
Maryann was a member of St Mary's Church, York. She was a 1951 graduate of St Mary's High School; huge Penn State fan; enjoyed golfing especially with Rakey (Kenneth); loved to read, competitive with board games especially Scrabble, creative with quilting and crafting.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, who died April 18, 2013.
Maryann is survived by her children Karen Wilson and her husband Christopher, Sharon Fager, Nancy Conley, Richard Rakestraw and his wife Rebecca, Barbara Rakestraw, Susan Seitz, Patricia Hunt and her husband Lee, grandchildren, Stacey, Benjamin, Marcie, Shane, Jamie, Jessie, Keith, Kevin, Elizabeth, Mary, Emily, Joshua, Danielle, Kacey, and Amanda; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great–great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 11:30 am at St Mary's Catholic Church, 309 S George Street York, Pa. with Father Dennis Klemash officiating. Viewing will be Monday morning from 10:00am until time of service. Interment will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, York Pa.
