On February 3, 1956, God breathed life into a beautiful soul named Ceferina R. Roberts. Blessed with selflessness, compassion, kindness, perseverance, and grace, she faced life's challenges with quiet strength and unwavering faith.
Ceferina's greatest joy was nurturing her family and extending her generosity beyond, especially feeding children in the Philippines and sharing her culinary gifts with family, friends, and coworkers. Known by many names-Mama, Grandma, Mana, Inday Pering, Cef, and Rina-her legacy of love and resilience lives on.
Ceferina peacefully passed away on September 27, 2025, at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, New Jersey, at the age of 69.
Born in Leyte, Philippines, she was the firstborn of 14 children to Petronio and Macaria Remoto. She was the devoted wife of John T. Roberts, who passed away in 2005.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Lunamie Alicea and James Roberts; granddaughters Thalia Alicea and Nyah Alicea; brothers and sisters; and numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces.
A gifted cook, baker, gardener, and singer, Ceferina's passion was hosting events to provide food to children in the Philippines and delighting those around her with her meals. She was always ready to help, choosing to give generously rather than indulge herself.
Ceferina's life was defined by love, humility, and service to others-qualities that will forever inspire those who knew her.
Family and friends will be received from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Sunday October 5, 2025 and again on Monday October 6, 2025 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm at DeMarco – Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave. Vineland, NJ 08361. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 741 E. Walnut Rd. Vineland, NJ.
