Celeste Marilyn Wiederkehr, 89, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on November 27, 2024, in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Celeste was born in Chicago, Illinois to Emily and Frank Janiga on May 20, 1935. She went to Norte Dame Catholic High School in Chicago. She always had fun memories to share of her high school days that included stories of her whole friend group with funny nicknames which included Mickey, Dodie, Loulou, Little Pat, Dottie and Jeanette. Celeste married Paul Armond Wiederkehr on November 9, 1961, and married for 56 years until his death on November 17, 2010.
Celeste was preceded in death by her mother, father, and husband. Celeste is survived by her children, Paul, Pamela, Patti, and Peggy, her brothers Joseph and Frank Janiga, and her grandchildren Emily and Sean Dalton, Alex and Shelby Wiederkehr, Madeleine Jaster and Colton and Ava Kalmar.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Celeste and Paul Wiederkehr will be laid to rest at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois besides Vincent and Emilie Wiederkehr.
Celeste will be remembered by the many lives she touched during her long life. She was funny, outgoing and will always be remembered by her funny way of goofing up words and sayings. This is something she passed along to her kids. She loved and was very proud of her children and grandchildren. If you had the privilege of knowing her, you will understand she left the world a better place. Celeste is in our hearts forever.
