Cesar M. Paulin M.D.

Cesar M. Paulin, M.D. passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and colleague. His greatest joy was being "Lolo" to his four grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice Marie Paulin (nee Cullinan); his daughters MariCris Paulin McDowell (Lindsay) of Cranbury, NJ and Catherine Paulin Umansky (Michael) of Freehold, NJ; grandchildren Connor and Avery McDowell and Jacob and Evan Umansky; sister Thelma Orendain (Leo) of Las Vegas, NV; and many nieces and nephews.
Born on January 29, 1938, in Cebu, Philippines, he immigrated to the U.S. in 1965 after graduating from medical school at University of the East in Manila, Philippines.
His first assignment as an intern was to ride the ambulance in New York City's Hell's Kitchen.
After finishing his residency, he moved with Alice to Freehold, NJ to work as one of the original attending physicians at what is now CentraState Medical Center.
He eventually established his own practice with Alice as his office manager. In the latter part of his career, he went on several medical missions in the Philippines, treating thousands of patients on each trip. He practiced internal medicine for 50 years.
He believed that everyone deserved to be treated with dignity and kindness, and t hat was obvious in how he treated his patients and colleagues and in how he loved his family and friends.
A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 2-4pm at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, NJ.
