Clarence Heyward Hill, Jr., affectionately known to all as "C.H.", passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, at the Veteran's Victory House in Walterboro, South Carolina, with his devoted wife by his side. C.H. was born in Orangeburg County, SC, to Loretta Singletary Hill and Clarence Hill, Sr. Raised in the Sandridge community, he grew up on the family farm, a place that remained central to his life as he built his home and nurtured his family there.

C.H. graduated from Cross High School, where he was known for his athletic spirit, playing both football and basketball. Upon graduation, he answered the call to serve his country in the United States Air Force, demonstrating a commitment to service that would define his life.

After his military service, C.H. began his professional journey at General Electric before joining Jack's Cookie Company, earning the enduring nickname "the cookie man." His cookie deliveries to schools, churches, and stores across the Lowcountry brought smiles to countless children and adults. Over the years, he rose through the ranks to become District Manager of Sales, leading teams of route salesmen throughout the Southeast. He retired after nearly forty years of dedicated service, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and leadership.

A man of deep faith, C.H. served as a deacon at Mount Olivet Baptist Church. He found joy in fishing, woodworking, watching races and classic westerns, and in his younger days, go-cart racing. His love of travel took him and his family to the mountains and on beach trips, creating treasured memories.

Above all, C.H. was known for his genuine love of people. He delighted in caring for others, brightening every room with his smile and sense of humor. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and share a laugh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Hill Myers.

C.H. is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Gail Austin Hill; his son, Todd Hill (Chad) of Decatur, GA; his daughter, Jennifer Hill Myers (Alex) of Ridgeville, SC; his sister, Lana Conn of Ridgeville, SC; his sisters-in-law, Dianne A. Sessions and Pat W. Austin; his brothers-in-law, Andrew Gene Austin and Forrest Sessions; and his aunt, June Singletary Bletsch. He was a proud grandfather to Nora Frances Hill-Ritenour and Lyla Naomi Myers, who he kept laughing and loved dearly. He is also remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews, all of whom called him "Uncle Hill."

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to The Veteran's Victory House and its dedicated staff for the compassionate care provided to C.H. during his time there.

His memorial service will be 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon, November 15, 2025, in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church directed by Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 PM until the hour of service on Saturday. The family suggests memorials be made to the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 278, Cross, SC 29436.

C.H.'s legacy is one of love, laughter, and service-a life lived with purpose and heart. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
