ADKISSON, Chad Allen, of Flint Township, age 46, died Monday, August 12, 2024 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, August 19, 2024 at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Cremation will follow. Interment will occur next to his mother, at Evergreen Cemetery, 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Chad will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 North Ballenger Highway, Flint Township, where friends may visit 10:00 AM until the time of services Monday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society or ABATE of Michigan. Chad was born in Flint, September 8, 1977, the son of Gerald and Marilyn (Watson) Adkisson. He was a graduate of Carman High School and a proud member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. In his early years he worked at the family machining business as a CNC Machinist. Chad had a passion for all things mechanical and was a gifted machinist. His hobbies included motorcycling, sport shooting, hunting, fishing, small engine repair and rebuilding, music, (surprisingly) cooking, and art and jewelry fabrication. What Chad loved most was riding his motorcycle and Bob Segar music. He enjoyed working on cars and had built and enjoyed several hotrods over the years. He was very knowledgeable in all aspects of automobile mechanics and could assemble a high=performance engine from scratch. He could also do body and paint work. He was a generous person and would help anyone in need. He had a unique sense of humor and could always make you smile. Surviving are: daughter, Alissa Capri Bosworth of Flint Township; father, Gerald A. Adkisson of Flushing; sister, Maria Lynn (Melissa Morgan) Adkisson of Davison; brother, Jerry R. Adkisson of Flint Township; stepmother, Debra Lawson; stepsister, Amy Beckley; several nieces and nephews. Chad is preceded in death by his mother, Marilynn (Watson) Adkisson, his grandparents, and most recently by his uncle, Ronald Adkisson.
