Wow, what a sad bit of news about Chad. He was my commercial, instrument, multi engine instructor on the Big Island. He was not only an excellent instructor but we became good friends.
Today at dawn, his controller called in a voice clear and steady
"Soul number Charlie, Bravo, Alpha I have your clearence ready."
As the voice continued, the clearence was read.
"Charlie Bravo Alpha is cleared to Heaven Intersection" is what was said.
"Proceed direct Heaven without delay"
"No holds in purgatory are forcast this day."
"Climb and maintain unlimited altitude; proceed toward,
and seconds after takeoff, contact your Lord."
"God is with you Charlie Bravo Alpha; proceed on your way."
"Youre cleared to Heaven Intersection, without delay."

He was the most sweetest person to work with. His energy, his vibe as a person was so kind. He was a wonderful soul. He cared deeply about his family and friends. And even times were tough he would always try to be positive And be uplifting. My experience with him will be always engraved in my heart he will be missed.

I flew with Chad many many times when I was a flight attendant and I remember flying with him when he was a new hire in 2007. He was always one of my favorites!! There's not a single ounce of hate in his heart! He accepted everyone for who they are, and we could always talk to him about anything. This made flying with him an absolute joy, and hearing this news really hurts. Chad, we love you, and one day the airline family will see each other again.

I only knew Chad from being his salesperson on his Porsche Cayman. But we quickly became friends through our passion for Porsche and motorcycles. We would talk often about what cars and bikes were next on our list. I´m devastated that we never found time to do a ride together. What I appreciated most though, was the amount of time that Chad would spend talking to me and my son as he helped my son through flight school. He even took time out of his schedule to show my son one of the planes that he flew. I can´t begin to say what that meant to me and my son. Chad will be very missed. I meet a lot of people in this line of work, but he was one of a kind and will be remembered as one of the best people I have met.

I´ve know Chad is whole airline career and had flown with him many times when he was my first officer then years later we flew together as two captains together. His humor was off the charts... one great memory. He wanted to take crawdads and shrimp to the family Thanksgiving. So he was in New Orleans on a trip and bought a bunch of fresh to take back. Well, they had all the legs and heads and beady eyes no one would eat them... we laughed so hard about that. He would always call me Indy 500 race morning and hear my predictions for the day. Chad you will be greatly missed and I know you are enjoying those Blue skies right now.

I flew with Chad as his FO at Shuttle and Republic. Chad was the candy man, and I´ll always remember the day he left his big gallon bag of Jolley Ranchers on the center console, left it there, and forgot about it. When we later took-off the bag then flew back, and hit the door so hard that it pushed several pieces of candy through the ventilation slats at the bottom, which then proceeded to roll down the main cabin aisle... Truly, one of the funniest flights I´ve ever had. Chad, you will be missed.

Spending time at his place was an experience that will remain a part of me for many reasons. Only wish we had spent more time together . Life is too short for all of us. Thanks for getting to know me and my family Chad. This hurts. I can´t sleep. I´m going to get you when I see you again.

Chad and my brother Chad were best friends. Chad was family, he would walk into our house and make himself a sandwich and pop downstairs to watch TV and my brother could do the same at his house. We loved his laughter and energy. Living in Shireman, the crew of boys that were all the same age used that entire neighborhood to ride bikes and hike in the woods. I was the only girl and would frequently find myself playing wiffle ball and football right along with them. We had a lot of fun. I remember his boxer dog, he would put mouth wash in his bowl because he said his dog had bad breath. Chad and Chad were two peas in a pod. We were lucky to grow up next to the Alexanders. I have so many favorite memories. If I have to pick one, it was when my brother Chad was playing basketball and Chad Alexander and I made signs and t shirts and showed up at the game calling ourselves the "Stupid Fan Club" and cheered Chad on. He brought a lot of joy to people for sure. May he rest in peace.

I flew with Chad at Shuttle America and at Republic Airways. He was one of my favorite Captains. I never heard from Chad on a daily or weekly basis, but when I did it was usually a long night. I will miss his quirky sense of humor and his seriousness when he was flying an aircraft full of passengers. Gone way too soon. Prayers for his family!

Graduated High School with Chad in 1990. Then quite by surprise Chad was deadheading on a flight I was working in 2017 at Republic . He was a great guy and Captain at Republic . He will be sorely missed .

I knew Chad most of his airline career and had the pleasure of flying with him quite a bit. He was an amazing guy and we loved trading "voices" and altered song lyrics back and forth to the point where we laughed so hard our ribs hurt and tears were streaming down our faces! We shared a lot of laughter and a lot of serious philosophical conversation as well, he will always be part of my fondest memories out there flying the line. I will miss you buddy!

People often ask me if I knew Chad since he was from my hometown and they ask if I had flown with him? I deeply regret that I never had the opportunity to be part of his flight crew. May his family find peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Chad was an amazing captain and friend. I loved our trips together. He was so fun, funny and just all around amazing. My favorite trip was when we were in Jacksonville, Fl and there was a grand white piano in the hotel, he played and sang us a song. So beautiful. This is a picture from the video I have of that day. He will forever be missed. Rest peacefully my friend.
