Chad Coffey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service - Storey Chapel on Dec. 20, 2025.
Chad Alan Coffey September 26, 1978 ~ December 16, 2025
Chad Alan Coffey, 47, of Jonesboro, passed away in his aunt's home at 4:19 pm on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Tuesday, September 26, 1978.
He was a lead forklift operator at Cafe Valley. He loved being outdoors, whether it was hunting or fishing, and he was always up for a round of paintball or a night of bowling. But what mattered most to him was being with his kids-that's where he was happiest. He liked the excitement of the casino and never missed a chance to gamble a little. Movies were another big part of his life; he could quote lines from his favorites like it was second nature. And when it came to music, his playlist was eclectic.
Chad's family would like to acknowledge the kindness and consideration of Cafe Valley during Chad's leave from work.
Chad is survived by his children, Katie (Michael) Aguirre of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Kelsie (Daniel Oehler) Coffey of Bradenton, FL, Ellison Coffey, Orion Coffey, Micah Vest, Maddox G. Coffey; bonus son, Sylas Beach; aunts and uncles, Vivian (Tim Savely ) Himes of Jonesboro, Phyllis Coffey, Denisa (Steve) Dillard, Kelly "Peanut" Coffey, Phillip Coffey; grandchildren, Leah Aguirre, Clayton Oehler, Madison Aguirre, Corbin Oehler; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; bonus aunt, Paula Stephens; best friend, Jeremy Mossburg; and close family friend, Rhonda Bush.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Norma Himes, George and Lucy Coffey; aunt, Roxane Himes; uncles, Jim Himes, David Coffey, Roy Dale Coffey; and cousin, James Himes.
At Chad's request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Autism Society of Indiana 10255 Commerce Drive, Suite 1641, Carmel, IN 46032 or the Non-game Wildlife Fund, Division of Fish and Wildlife, 402 West Washington Street, Room W273, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
