Chad Klusmeier

Chad Dewayne Klusmeier, age 50, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 24, 1975, in Gibson County, to George "Pops" & Ginger Klusmeier.
He graduated from Gibson Southern High School in 1993. After high school, he worked several jobs before working at Altec in Poseyville for several years. He left that job and found his home at Graham Packaging when it first opened its doors. He worked there for 20 years fixing many things & making several friends before having to leave due to his illness. Chad never met a stranger thanks to his gift of gab. For several years he was a volunteer firefighter and a first responder, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Chad loved history, so in true fashion, it was fitting he passed on Pearl Harbor Day. He loved spending time outdoors. He loved mushroom hunting, arrowhead hunting, fishing, fixing & tinkering with things around the house. He loved the Chicago Bears DA BEARS! But, most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Krista & his furry companion, Symon; daughters, Brianna & Taylor Klusmeier (Caleb); son, Colton (Kiah); 8 grandchildren: Bentlee, Braxton, Chloe, Maverick, Nevaeh, Carter, Paislee, Weston; and one on the way: Wrenlee. His mother, Ginger; siblings, Dawn (Donnie) Schmitt, Angie (Mike) Busing, & Steve (Jennifer) Klusmeier. His in-laws, Mike Lary (Chari Buchanan-Walker), Dana (Pat) Johnson; sister-in-law, Jen (Alli) Wenban; brother in laws, Justin Lary, Kory (Amy) Lary, Kolby (Nicole) Lary, Chris Walker; Grandma Brenda; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; father, George "Pops" Klusmeier; brother, Junior Klusmeier; sister, Jaimie Tate Shade.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Enhabit Hospice care especially his nurse, Brandi Farrar.
A visitation will take place on Thursday December 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Greater Grace Apostolic Church in Oakland City, Indiana. A service will follow, at 6:00 PM, with Pastor Jason Clark officiating.
